Relationships shift and change in unexpected ways.

Sam and Lucy fall for each other quickly and forever. He’s darkness, she's all light. He’s cautious, she’s impulsive. He worries what will happen, she embraces the now. They meet just after he’s been saved from despair by the birth of his niece – another, tinier Lucy. It’s a sign they’re destined to be together, right?

As time goes by, Sam discovers Lucy has more in common with him than he thought, when despair, the thing Lucy enabled him to rise above, begins to drag her down.

Heartbreak High star Thomas Weatherall made his rapturously received theatre debut with his Belvoir one-man piece, Blue. Lucy, his sophomore play, marks his first foray onto the Melbourne stage.

What happens when you fall in love with your opposite… and the dynamic reverses?

Starring AACTA-nominated actor Weatherall (The Narrow Road to the Deep North) and directed by Dean Bryant, Lucy looks at the changing shape of a relationship over time, and what to do when you don’t recognise that shape anymore.
