RACHEL COULSON

Act One unfolds in monochrome precision, a razor-edged world of pulsing choreography, music, and light. Act Two detonates into colour, refracting the same reality through a new lens. Structures repeat, motifs re-emerge, but they are transformed. Duets are re-cast, groups become solitary figures. What was crisp becomes wild, what was abstract becomes emotional.
At its heart, VISTA wrestles with the slipperiness of perception: how one moment, one conversation, one event, can fracture into different readings depending on who is watching, and from where. It’s a reflection on the fragile line between fact and belief.
What anchors it all is bodies in motion. Six extraordinary dancers weave between technique and reckless abandon. With costuming by iconic Melbourne brand ALPHA60, Bosco Shaw’s striking lighting and music by internationally acclaimed audio-visual artist Robin Fox, the dancers and collaborators drive this shape-shifting world where monochrome discipline collides with joyful release.
