Shakesplosion! is a fast-paced theatrical comedy that takes on the seemingly impossible challenge of performing every play written by William Shakespeare in just one hour. What begins as an ambitious celebration of the Bard quickly descends into hilarious chaos as a troupe of enthusiastic performers races through his comedies, histories and tragedies at breakneck speed.

Shakespeare’s greatest characters and most famous moments are condensed, rearranged and gleefully reimagined. The comedies collide in a whirlwind of mistaken identities, romance and ridiculous plot twists, while the history plays become an increasingly frantic journey through kings, battles and royal succession. Macbeth brings witches, ambition, murder and mayhem to the stage, before Hamlet receives its own wonderfully irreverent treatment. Along the way, familiar Shakespearean language sits alongside contemporary humour, physical comedy and direct interaction with the audience.

As the performers desperately attempt to complete their Shakespearean marathon, theatrical conventions are stretched, characters appear and disappear at astonishing speed, and no play is entirely safe from parody. The result is an energetic celebration of Shakespeare that embraces both the brilliance and absurdity of his work, proving that four centuries later, the Bard can still surprise, entertain and make an audience laugh!
