Dino is a leading trans director and dramaturg, and the Artistic Director of the Trans Theatre Festival. Their award-winning work has marked them as a true innovator in exploring trans dramaturgies and forms. In this two-hour masterclass, Dino invites participants into a deep dive into: What is a Trans Dramaturgy? Explore how to shape story, space, lens, and process in ways that move beyond representation. How can you draw on trans dramaturgies to make them your own when creating or directing complex new works?

MASTERCLASS TWO: TRANSGRESSING STRUCTURE AND FORM with Glace Chase

Glace is a multiple award-winning writer, performer and comedienne. She wrote & starred in Sydney Theatre Company/Queensland Theatre Co’s landmark play Triple X, earning rave reviews and nightly standing ovations. Triple X, the first Australian work to centre a trans woman on a mainstage, was shortlisted for both the Susan Smith Blackburn Award and Nick Enright Prize. Join Glace for a very non-boring take on something everyone finds boring: three-act structure! (And five-act structure.) Drawing on her acclaimed body of work, Glace unpacks how structure can be both your best friend and your greatest tool for rebellion. Learn how to bend, break, reimagine and rebuild the rules to create theatre that reflects our complex, modern lives.

MASTERCLASS THREE: CREATING FROM SELF with Travis Alabanza

Travis is a writer, performer and theatre maker. For stage, Travis wrote and performed in their debut show BURGERZ which won the Total Theatre Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, sold out at Southbank Centre and Traverse Theatre and toured internationally. It was also voted one of The Guardian Readers Top Shows of The Year. Their play Overflow, which premiered at and streamed from The Bush, was met with critical acclaim and was shortlisted for the George Devine Award. Their latest theatre commission, Sound of the Underground, premiered as part of the Royal Court's new season in 2023, and was a smash-hit. Join Travis for a two-hour masterclass on creating work from personal experience. Come and learn about writing for the stage, from this icon and boundary pusher of international theatre.
