Over one sleepless night, two sisters enter a ruthless negotiation.

From Yve Blake, the twisted genius behind FANGIRLS and Mackenzie, comes a new story that takes the most illegal thoughts you’ve ever had about your family... and screams them out loud.

After a long battle with cancer, Robyn and Tess’ dad is dead. His wake was today. But with Dad gone, who will care for their nightmare of a mother? Especially now that her memory is turning to clag glue.

Robyn has it all: a fancy job, a loving wife, a young child, and a big fat house. But a life like that doesn’t come cheap. Meanwhile, Tess is a struggling documentary filmmaker who is sick of watching her savings go down, down, down, while all around her, house prices go up, up, up.

Neither sister has the time, money or desire to take on caring for their mum. So, what are they going to do? Over a shared bottle of whiskey, the knives come out.

Directed by Artistic Director Dean Bryant, Jackpot is a pitch-black comedy about family obligation, housing inequality, and the increasingly uncomfortable question of what we owe our parents, and what they owe us.
