Handel’s Xerxes (composed in 1738) is where love triangles, mistaken identities and bold disguises collide. Featuring the iconic aria ‘Ombra mai fu’, this vibrant opera blends comic charm with heartfelt emotion in a dazzling tale of desire, rivalry and reconciliation.
Students from the University of Melbourne’s Master of Music (Opera Performance), Bachelor of Music (Performance) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production) combine with the Conservatorium’s Early Music Studio to deliver this glorious work.
