MALTHOUSE PROMPT IS OUR YOUTH AND EDUCATION PROGRAM.
PROMPT / cue, induce, make, motivate, persuade, encourage, stimulate, impel and inspire.

THE SUITCASE SERIES
OUR AWARD-WINNING EDUCATION PROGRAM
THE SUITCASE SERIES EMPOWERS YOUNG PEOPLE TO TACKLE THE GREATEST CHALLENGE OF THEIR GENERATION: CLIMATE CHANGE.
Year 9 and 10 students devise their own works in response to a specially commissioned script. This innovative program is an opportunity for students to develop and expand their theatre-making skills and to share a performance day with their peers, before viewing Malthouse Theatre’s full production of the play.
In 2020 Malthouse Theatre commissions the 6th play in The Suitcase Series, Hello, World! by Natesha Somasundaram.

MALTHOUSE THEATRE'S AWARD-WINNING EDUCATION PROGRAM IS SET TO CELEBRATE ITS 10TH BIRTHDAY!
Over the course of a decade, The Suitcase Series has engaged more than 6,000 students across Victoria. And after 10 years, student alumni are starting to emerge into their own professional practise.
We're celebrating with a special retrospective website featuring archival photos, footage and stories from previous cast, writers, participating teachers, and students. If you've been involved in The Suitcase Series since it started in 2010 as a teacher, student or as an audience member – we want to hear from you!
The Suitcase Series also receives generous support from individual Malthouse Muse donors.

Malthouse Theatre makes work that fans the flames of radical culture, so there’s always the chance that someone will get naked or say something rude. The nature of devising theatre is that things can change right up until opening night. If we feel that the content of a work may inhibit yours or your students’ enjoyment of the experience we will get in touch. We’ve also provided some Risk Assessment Guidance to assist teachers prepare for excursions to The Coopers Malthouse: Download – Risk Assessment Guidance for Schools
