MADE IN CHINA 2.0

Malthouse Theatre invites audiences and industry behind the scenes with two new works in development, made in collaboration with radical young voices from China.

Renowned Chinese theatre-maker Wang Chong presents three exclusive showings of his new experimental performance-lecture Made In China 2.0. Following his stellar production of Little Emperors (Malthouse Theatre for Asia TOPA 2017), Chong takes audiences on a journey deep inside his personal experiences of making boundary-pushing theatre around the globe, and the ever-shifting minefield of creativity and control.

"THIS COLLABORATION WITH CHONG, HIMSELF AN IMMENSELY SENSITIVE AND SUPPLE THEATRE-MAKER, IS … RICH AND HIGHLY SATISFYING."
— Time Out (for Little Emperors)

Made in China 2.0 is supported by the Playking Foundation, Arts Centre Melbourne and Sidney Myer Fund.
