Sunday 25 June

Under Ice

A journey of one man through ‘Das System’ – the complex of globalised
corporations, communications and entertainment that affects us all.
Written by Falk Richter, one of Germany’s hottest contemporary writers
(Electronic City, Seven Minutes-In God We Trust and God is a DJ), and
directed and produced by Benedict Andrews (Julius Caesar and Far Away
[Sydney Theatre Company], The Chairs [Company B] and Blackbird
[Schaubühne]).

Originally produced by ABC Radio National in association with the Sydney
Theatre Company and the Goethe Institut. Director, Benedict Andrews; Sound
Engineer, Mark Don and Executive Producer for ABC Radio, Tony MacGregor.

Sunday 23 July

What’s happening in the ‘Old World’?
Writer Marius von Mayenburg (Ger) and director Benedict Andrews (Aust),
up and coming artists in contemporary theatre and the team behind Eldorado,
discuss their working relationship and trends on European stages.
Previous collaborations between Marius and Benedict include von
Mayenburg’s Fireface for Sydney Theatre Company and Sarah Kane’s
Cleansed for the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, Berlin.

Sunday 13 August

The Empty Space
"Ngargee" is the name given to the space between Malthouse Theatre, the
Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) and Chunky Move, as well as
the rust-red building that forms two sides of it. This Southbank precinct is also
the space in which these three companies create and present all things
seductive, intriguing and dangerous in theatre, dance and visual art.
Come join Michael Kantor (Malthouse Theatre) Juliana Engberg (ACCA),
and Gideon Obarzanek (Chunky Move) as they discuss space and its
relationship to their artistic practice. Hosted by writer and critic Alison Croggon.
