Kota
Yamazaki and Australias Lucy Guerin.
Set to a score by Japanese composer Haco and performed by two Japanese
dancers, Guerin who wowed Malthouse
Theatre audiences with a sell-out
season of Love Me has choreographed Setting,
a study of the interactions
and desires of an unnamed couple who unveil their own unique compatibility.
Yamazaki has worked with Australian designer Ben Cobham to create
Chamisa 4ºC, a triumphant display of physical endurance set
in a stark desert
landscape and performed by four Australian dancers.
After a world premiere in Kyoto in August, this dance double-bill
arrives at
Malthouse Theatre to continue an exhilarating cultural conversation
as part of
the Melbourne International Arts Festival.
