Attempting to climb the Hollywood dream pile, a young woman is
shot to
infamy when her body, severed at the waist, is placed on display
for all the
world to see...
Installed within the Tower Theatre is BLACK.
It is a complex combination of civilized history and surrealist
murder that uses
performers, text, image and sound to explore our fascination with
true-crime.
By diving into the famed, unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short (A.K.A.The
Black
Dahlia) the work catalogues her brutal and mysterious death and
the confusion
of information that surrounds it. It is a work that summons a multiplicity
of truth
to become, like the murder, unsolvable.
Conceived, directed and designed by Anna Tregloan, BLACK,
is an exploration
of the live.
The performance runs continually over three hours. You are invited
to enter
and exit at your leisure; a minimum twenty minute immersion is recommended.
