Written, Designed and Performed by
Mr Brian Lipson and Sir Francis Galton

"An acting tour-de-force that is also intellectually intriguing and morally disturbing." The Age

TAKE A PEEK INSIDE A BEAUTIFUL MIND. IT’S ABOUT TO GET UGLY

Brian Lipson’s theatrical juggernaut has been acclaimed the world over as a brilliant excursion into the eccentric mind of a genius: part monster, part messiah. Sir Francis Galton was one of the brightest lights of 19th century science whose profound contributions to the field were matched by equally bizarre studies such as "On Making the Perfect Cup of Tea", "Arithmetic by Smell" and "A Beauty Map of Pretty Girls in Great Britain". But his extraordinary mind also had its dark underside: he is now best recognised as the founder of Eugenics, the theory of racial betterment through selective breeding which was used to justify some of the twentieth century’s worst atrocities. Now, a century dead, Lipson channels Galton’s spirit in this wildly inventive and uncomfortably rib-tickling exploration of ethics, erudition and a truly fascinating brain.

Hunched in his study, surrounded by hundreds of scientific oddments, memorabilia and antiquated jumble, Lipson incarnates Galton with startling ease. A Large Attendance in the Antechamber has won its maker Green Room Awards for Best Production and Best Actor, and has toured throughout Australia, Britain and the USA.
