Hearing Assistance

Malthouse Theatre offers a Hearing Assistance System in all three venues which allows patrons who are using a hearing aid to tune into the frequency of that venue. For patrons without a hearing aid, we also offer a similar system and provide the patron with headphones. These systems are available for all performances held at Malthouse Theatre. It is preferable that you let our team know that you intend to use the system either whilst making your booking or by contacting the box office directly to inform us. AUSLAN interpreted and Audio Translated Performances

Malthouse Theatre offers a number of AUSLAN interpreted and Audio Translated performances; for dates and times refer to our calendar.

Wheelchair Access

Wheelchair bookings can be made for performances in any of the venues within the Malthouse. We are happy for patrons to either transfer from their wheelchair to a seat, or to clear a space so that the patron may stay in their chair, we are also happy to reserve a space next to this for any companions or friends attending the performance. As we need to pass the required information on to our FOH team it is best that bookings be made as far in advance as possible. To make a booking please contact the box office. If you have any questions regarding accessibility to the venue, your seats or anything else please phone our friendly box office staff on 03 9685 5111 (press option 2) between the hours of 9.30am – 5.00pm Mon – Fri or 10.30am – 5.00pm on Saturdays.

Companion Card

The Companion Card has been developed by the Victorian Network on Recreation and Disability (VICNORD) and admits carers to shows as complimentary guests. The Malthouse welcomes holders of this card to attend any performance presented by Malthouse Theatre.
