Welcome to Glenn and Rhonda’s swingin’ Love Arena, where the cliches of coupledom do battle with the deeper essence of romance. But does Glenn’s wide-lapelled lounge suit and day-glo smile conceal a darker side? Do Rhonda’s go-go boots and miniskirt mask something altogether more troubling?

In an era where love is always a quotation and the mysteries of the heart seem clouded in fog, it’s good to know there’s someone ready to sort out your troubles.

Blue Love is a wildly entertaining and always surprising investigation of pop culture and the images of romance and desire that surround us. Through film, text, dance and song, performers Shaun Parker and Veronica Neave inhabit a world of overlapping frames in which 60s kitsch transforms into medieval love song, with deft physical comedy flipping into poignant drama.

Shaun Parker’s This Show is About People drew resounding praise at last year’s Melbourne International Arts Festival and the boundary-defying choreographer and theatre-maker returns to our stage with this mad postmodern pastiche. Magical imagery and enchantment mingle with tongue in-cheek humour and startling motion. If love is a battlefield, Parker leads the charge.
