All Afeather

On Saturday April 21, All Afeather will take wing as we ponder the influence of birds on dance, theatre and music.
Our friends at renowned dance company Phillip Adams BalletLab, came over all ornithological in their recent work Aviary. Especially for All Afeather, Phillip Adams will present an excerpt from Aviary in the Beckett Theatre, illustrating how birds inspired every aspect of Aviary.
Richard Nylon, master milliner, will discuss how he creates bird inspired fashion for the haute couture and costume world.
Sean Dooley is an author, radio presenter, comedian and self-proclaimed bird-nerd. In 2002, Sean broke the Australian bird watching record for seeing the most species in the one year. So, not only is he a bird-nerd, he’s a funny, record-breaking bird-nerd.
Uncle Herb Patten took the nation by storm as a grand finalist on Australia’s Got Talent, playingUnchained Melody on the gumleaf. For All Afeather, Uncle Herb will conjure an array of Australian native birds on the gumleaf for our aural amazement.
