3DFest is back again for another year
of theatrical magic!
3DFest is a collaborative partnership between Victoria University
and Malthouse Theatre. A home for emerging artists, 3DFest is an
annual theatre festival for students across campuses of all Victorian
tertiary institutes. Its about writing theatre, making theatre
and performing theatre with the chance to show off your talents
to industry professionals.
And, you dont have to be a drama queen to get involved - tertiary
students
from any faculty can enter.
Since its inception in 2002, over 600 students have strutted their
stuff and some of these participants have gone on to present their
work at an international level. Others now play an active part in
the Melbourne theatre scene.
Does it cost any money to enter?
Its FREE, so no excuses. There are no entry fees or registration
fees for
3DFest. You will need to look after the costs of production and
travel.
When is 3DFest on?
3DFest returns August 12 - 15, 2008. Showcase Wednesday August 27.

Entering 3DFest - Entries for 3DFest
2008 are now open.
The Festival that was
3DFest 2007 went off with a bang in August with 16 productions from
8 institutions. After the Showcase at the CUB Malthouse on August
22, The Industry Panel of Michael Kantor, Maryanne Lynch, Lally
Katz and Aidan Fennessey gave Malthouse Theatre Development Awards
to Screams of Unconscious and Matildas Waltz,
both presented by students from Monash University. Development Awards
are given out each year and are tailored to the winning groups
requirements and may take the form of workshopping, dramaturgy,
mentoring and performance.
