Collection of information

In order to provide customers with a quality ticketing service, Malthouse offers customers the ability to purchase tickets in several different ways:

• Purchasing with credit card over the telephone.
• In-person at The C.U.B Malthouse box office.
• Reserving tickets over the phone to be paid for on collection.
• Online sales will soon be available through our website.

These methods of purchase reflect the different ways in which Malthouse collects personal information about customers. Collection of personal information will occur at the time you make a purchase or reservation, or when you register as a member through our website. In accordance with the National Privacy Principles personal information will only be collected by Malthouse if:

• It is necessary for one or more of its functions or activities;
• It is collected lawfully and by fair means and not in an unreasonably intrustive   manner
• It is collected from the indvidual to whom the information relates (where personal   information about an individual is collected from someone else, reasonable   steps will be taken to ensure that the individual is made aware).

What information is collected, and why?

If you purchase tickets from Malthouse, we need to collect personal information about you, including your name, address and telephone number. The main reason we need this information is so we can contact you in the case of an event cancellation or to notify change of event details or replacement of lost tickets. We may also need some of this information in order to process your payment (for example, if you pay by credit card online). Unless you request otherwise, we will use personal information about you for marketing and research purposes. You can let us know about this at any time - all you need to do is contact Malthouse if you no longer wish to receive marketing material (the contact details of our Privacy Officer are outlined below).

Use and Disclosure

Malthouse does not sell personal information. However we may disclose personal information about you in some circumstances. Unless you request otherwise, Malthouse may disclose your contact details to venues and promoters so that they can provide you with promotional material about upcoming events.
We may also disclose your personal information to third party contractors and service providers who help us operate our business or to provide a service to you. If Malthouse provides your personal information to venues or promoters, or engages contractors and service providers to handle personal information, we require these organisations to agree to comply with our Privacy Policy and with strict conditions governing how personal information is to be handled.
Otherwise, Malthouse will only disclose personal information if this is required by law or permitted under the Privacy Act.

Anonymity

Where it is lawful and practicable to do so, customers may transact with Malthouse without providing personal information. Customers wishing to purchase without providing personal information can make a cash transaction at the Malthouse box office. However, if we do not collect personal information about
you at the point of sale, we will not be able to contact you in the case of an event cancellation or venue change, nor advise you of other events that may
be of interest.

Non-customer information

Sometimes, Malthouse will need to collect personal information about individuals who are not customers.
